Job Title: Cafe Barista Weekend Shift Manager
Location: Social House Café 60 Broadway, Brooklyn NY 11249

Employment Type: Full-Time (35 - 40) hours per week)
Schedule: Thursday - Sunday

  • Thursday & Friday: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Compensation: $40,000 - $50,000 per year (Hourly or Salary Option)
Additional Earning Potential: Opportunity to work catering events for extra revenue

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and professional Cafe Barista Weekend Shift Manager to lead our team during key service hours. This role is vital to maintaining the daily operations, overseeing customer experience, and supporting staff development.   • Lead, supervise, and support barista staff during Thursday - Sunday shifts.
  • Ensure smooth daily operations, from opening to closing procedures.
  • Act as the first point of contact for any customer service escalations.

Barista & Food Service

  • Prepare high-quality coffee, espresso-based drinks, and signature lattes.
  • Oversee and assist in food preparation, including light breakfast items and sandwiches.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café space, including workstations and dining areas.

Inventory & Stock Management

  • Track and manage inventory of coffee, food, and essential supplies.
  • Place orders to maintain adequate stock levels and minimize waste.

Team Leadership & Staff Development

  • Train, coach, and support baristas to ensure high-quality service and efficiency.
  • Create a positive and motivating team environment.
  • Ensure all team members follow health, safety, and operational standards.

Administrative Duties

  • Assist with payroll and scheduling for barista staff, as needed.
  • Support management with reporting on sales, labor, and inventory.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional Barista Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a barista, with a strong knowledge of espresso equipment and preparation techniques.
  • Leadership Experience: Experience in a supervisory or management role within a café, coffee shop, or restaurant.
  • Food Handling Skills: Knowledge of food safety, preparation, and handling procedures.
  • Customer Service Skills: Passion for delivering excellent customer service with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Inventory Management: Ability to track, manage, and forecast stock needs.
  • Availability: Must be able to work Thursday - Sunday during the specified hours.

Requires a NYC Department of Health Food Protections Certification or proof of enrollment in the FREE NYC Department of Health Food Protection Certification Course.

Requires Latte Art Skills.
