What it's like at an Amazon Fulfillment Center

  1. Safety: We understand your safety is fundamental to us, hence we offer safeguarding. Every unit participates in sharing safety tips daily with one another.
  2. Surroundings : Expect to work in close proximity to various types of machinery, such as order pickers, stand-up forklifts, turret trucks, and mobile carts.
  3. Activity: Involvement in specific endeavors could necessitate the need to uphold a static position for prolonged intervals, take steps by foot, or ascend and descend stairways.
  4. Temperature : When temperatures soar, the truck yard or inside trailers can experience temperatures over 90°F even with climate controls.
  5. Noise level : The noise level may become excessive in some situations. If necessary, we have hearing protection available for use.
  6. Dress code : For the most part, Amazon's dress code is laid-back, but safety procedures must be strictly followed. Although informal clothing is acceptable, wearing closed-toe shoes is necessary. In designated business units, safety footwear is compulsory. Amazon understands this, and as such, provides employees with a $110 Zappos gift code to prepare them for their first day.
