About the Photo Studio Team


You will be a part of the Photo Studio team, working to actively maintain and improve the photo sample inventory and systems. You will work with the team to ensure samples are in peak condition and that teams in need of our product are given the best internal customer service possible. Our team plays an important behind-the-scenes role in bringing the aspirational aesthetic of Rejuvenation to life.

Overview of the Jr. Art Director

Working under the guidance of the Director of Photo and Sr. Manager, Creative Services, you will be responsible for managing pre-production through the execution of brand eCommerce lifestyle photography. This position is a dual art director/stylist role and a key contributor to the Photo Team serving to steer the visual identity for this channel of imagery. From concept to completion, you will own the end-to-end execution of simple environmental photography by creating style guides, designing evergreen sets, directing on-set eCommerce lifestyle photography, and compiling post-production notes. Collaborating with internal and cross-functional teams, you will translate seasonal concepts into cohesive brand photography that honors best-in-class quality standards through set design, styling, and lighting direction.

  • Collaborate with Director of Photography and Sr. Manager, Creative and photo team to create the visual direction for eCommerce lifestyle photography
  • Oversee pre-production, production, and post-production of all simple environmental photography.
  • Art Direct and style eCommerce lifestyle and other special brand projects on set, leading the team towards inspiring on brand photography, effectively communicating your vision in a positive, efficient. and effective way.
  • Facilitate weekly pre-pros with the photo team of photographer, producer, and merchandise coordinator.
  • Establish and maintain brand photo style guides for eCommerce lifestyle to achieve a unifying brand expression.
  • Help maintain and populate visual reference libraries of market research, interior design trends, and marketing collateral.
  • Work directly with photography and campaign team on efficient pre- and post-production ensuring brand constancy, quality, and deliverables are met.
  • Create clear and thorough creative briefs and shot lists that ensure final photography meets original creative intent and efficient use of resources.
  • Recognize and utilize market trends, customer data, and the competitive landscape to ensure photography is relevant and current.
  • Operate a computer and communicate via telephone
  • Transport materials and equipment and lift, move and carry objects up to 50 pounds on a limited basis

Criteria

 

  • Minimum 3 years experience, in graphic design, photography, art direction, or styling
  • Strong photo art direction experience on set and location
  • Prior corporate or agency experience required
  • Demonstrates excellent taste level, aesthetic mastery, and design judgment
  • Prior experience leading a freelance or internal team from pre-production to execution on time and according to brand standards
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Suites & Excel
  • Photo editing and retouching knowledge
  • Experience creating and/or maintaining detailed brand style guides
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments and with a broad range of personalities
  • Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated and collaborative
  • Willingness to dive in and be part of a highly collaborative team
  • Ability to perform work onsite in the Portland office full-time pending state, local, and Company return-to-work guidance during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
